    Dear Keren,

Congratulations! I am delighted to be able to tell you that Salvage has been selected for the SSBA 2015 short list. The book has generated a great deal of discussion among the students, teachers and librarians who were involved in reading through the lengthy long list.

Other books on this year’s short list are:

    Crow, Sara – Bone Jack
    Gibbons, Alan – Hate
Dawson, James – Say her Name
Rai, Bali – Web of Darkness

The presentation evening is to be held on the 15th January 2016 at Roedean School in Brighton starting around 6.30pm. The host will be Sophie McKenzie who was last year’s winner with Split Second. I do hope that the 15th is free for you to attend – we would all love to see you there.

The Southern Schools Book Award is a good mix from both the state and independent sectors of education across Kent and Sussex. There are about 40 schools participating which means around 400 – 500 young people reading, discussing and voting on the outcome. The winning results are directly down to the students – no adults are involved in the voting procedure! http://www.ssba-online.co.uk .

Please could you let me have a contact at Atombooks so that I can let the publisher have the good news.

I look forward very much to hearing from you Keren and congratulations again.

    Very best wishes
    Mandy

Hi, I read and really enjoyed your “When I was Joe” trilogy. Another Life ended with so many unanswered questions that I was wondering if you eventually plan to return to that world, not necessarily with the same main characters, to bring everything together and answer those many unanswered questions, if not let me know so I can ask about the unanswered questions. Your other books sound great and I can’t wait to read them.
